Who We Are

AISC is a multi-disciplinary technical services and staffing firm serving some of the most demanding industries in the world. We combine hands-on engineering capability with deep technical workforce expertise to give our clients something they rarely find: a single firm that can genuinely do it all.

Our team brings together specialists across instrumentation, automation, calibration, control systems, panel fabrication, and site installation-as well as professionals who place top-tier engineering and technology talent into organizations that can't afford to get it wrong.

We don't subcontract our expertise. We are the experts.

Our Mission

To be the most capable and trusted technical partner for regulated industries-delivering precision services and specialized talent that drive safety, compliance, and operational performance.

The Breadth Advantage

In technical industries, specialization matters. But fragmentation costs money, time, and accountability. Most firms force clients to manage multiple vendors across disciplines-each with their own scope, timeline, and limitations.

AISC was built to eliminate that problem.

By housing five distinct technical service lines and six staffing disciplines under one firm, we give clients a level of coordination, consistency, and capability that simply isn't available anywhere else. Our people talk to each other. Our services complement each other. And our clients benefit from that integration every day.

Firm Capabilities

AISC is a company capable of providing full Engineering, Industrial Automation, System Integration, Field Services, and Maintenance Services to water and wastewater utilities. AISC’s staff has been involved in projects in water production, water distribution, wastewater treatment, and wastewater collection facilities. AISC has worked in all aspects of Distributed Control Systems, including but not limited to new installations, full rehabilitation, replacement, additions, programming, and maintenance.

Having worked on numerous projects in the Detroit Metro area over the years, we are familiar with local regulations and codes that govern engineering services, as well as the applicable national standards. Our greatest strength is our detailed experience with the various facilities that make up the regional water and wastewater system, from construction to start-up, as well as how the system operates. Our staff includes a Professional Engineer, licensed and registered in the State of Michigan, who leads all engineering efforts. AISC’s staff also includes engineers with advanced degrees, highly experienced field engineers, certified project management professionals, and ISA-certified technicians.

Instrumentation and Control (I&C)

AISC was involved in several major control system projects, PC-713, CS-1524, 882, and CS-1543, as well as several other projects that implemented the Ovation DCS as a Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) standard. During the past 10 years, AISC has worked with customers to expand the I&C coverage of their facilities. Our areas of experience include:

Field Investigation

Building electrical and control cabinets, including related fieldwork. Whether it was troubleshooting existing circuits and connections as part of an upgrade and/or replacement plan or field-verifying installations as part of a construction project, AISC has done it.

Ovation, SCADA, and PLC Systems

Our staff has assisted with and performed most of the engineering and programming work on the Ovation DCS. We are proud to say that we have the largest number of Ovation engineers and programmers in the area. Our core engineers are well known to DWSD/GLWA staff on both the treated water and wastewater sides, including the CSO group. To this day, we are involved with all Ovation-related projects, integration, planning, and/or consulting. We were also instrumental in developing some of the features included in the Ovation system, most of which came out of the PC-713 project. We worked with Emerson’s design engineers to make the custom features an integrated part of their package.

AISC remains heavily involved in the PLC systems at GLWA. We have in-house expertise to handle all PLC projects while using a Rockwell Certified Systems Integrator. AISC has programmed the majority of the SCADAPack RTUs in the GLWA SCADA system. We have developed plans and designs for new sites using the latest SCADAPack RTUs.

Control System Troubleshooting

AISC staffs engineers and technicians who can provide technical services for control systems and instrumentation devices that are critical to operational status at various facilities. Our staff is trained in programming and troubleshooting for both Ovation DCS and Rockwell systems. Being an approved vendor for both manufacturers allows us to have on-demand subject matter expert support to assist with major issues at client sites.

System Automation and Optimization

Our team is very familiar with operations and processes in the water/wastewater sector, so much so that we have been and continue to be a key resource in developing process improvements that result in a tangible return on investment. By performing evaluations and implementing smart instruments for facilities, AISC can design, integrate, and commission DCS and PLC platforms at utility-related facilities. An optimized system provides improvements in performance, but it is also safer, more reliable, and its uptime is competitive with market averages. An optimized system promises improvements in repeatability, reliability, and consistency.

The Technical Services and Staffing Solutions We Deliver

From instrumentation and automation to specialized technical staffing, AISC provides the expertise and resources to support complex projects across regulated industries nationwide.
